Changes to Family Hubs Core offer, Family Support, and Day Care Services
1st May 2025
In the next few months if you visit one of our Family Hubs, community venues or receive support from any of our family services you may see some changes.
What are the changes?
Earlier this year Calderdale Council invited local providers to bid to run Family Hub services for families. In March 2025 the contract was awarded to North Halifax Partnership (NHP).
This means that from 1 October 2025 NHP will be delivering Family Hubs Core and Family Support Services from the 13 Family Hub sites and community venues across Calderdale as well as the 9 Family Hub nurseries.
What does this mean for me and my family?
Families living in the North Halifax or the Lower Valley you won’t see a change of provider, as North Halifax Partnership currently runs those services for families.
Families living in Central Halifax and the Upper Valley will see a change of provider and signage, as those services are currently run by Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT). This will change from 1 October 2025 to North Halifax Partnership, however you’ll continue to receive the same high level of support.
North Halifax Partnership are excited to work with families, Family Hub staff teams, and Family Hub partners across Calderdale to review and develop the services across all Family Hubs in Calderdale.
What happens now?
North Halifax Partnership and Halifax Opportunities Trust and Calderdale Council will be working together to make sure these changes are in place by 1 October 2025, so that the Family Hub Services continue to support your needs.
NHP would like to make you aware of two days where Calderdale Family Hubs buildings, services and nurseries will be closed;
- 1 October 2025 for NHP to welcome and train staff (only for the services currently delivered by HOT)
- 7 October 2025 for a full staff training day. (All Family Hubs and services)
Please note no nursery fees will be charged on these closure days. Thank you for your understanding.
Halifax Opportunities Trust would like to say a sincere thank you to families they have worked alongside for their support and involvement over the past 23 years. Although HOT will no longer deliver the Family Hub services, you will continue to see the same staff members delivering local services.
Yours faithfully
Nicola Holdsworth (Children and Families Programme Manager, NHP) and
Caren Parkinson (Children and Families Lead, HOT)
