This workshop is designed to facilitate conversations and collective thinking around the future direction of the Infant Feeding strategy and workstream. During this workshop we will:

• Map out what is currently happening and identify what’s working well for infant feeding

• Explore recommendations and co-develop ideas for next steps

• Begin shaping a joint action plan from the infant feeding strategy and suggested ideas, considering milestones and deliverables

Following the Strategies into Action workshops, we will develop an outline action plan, drawing directly from the insights and ideas shared during the sessions. This plan will include key priorities, proposed activities, and indicative timelines

In September (exact date to be confirmed), we’ll host a ‘Next Steps’ session, where Ideas Alliance will present the draft action plan for group discussion. This will be a vital opportunity to refine the plan collaboratively together and agree on a final, actionable, and ambitious roadmap to guide both the Infant Feeding and Parent-Infant Relationship/Perinatal Mental Health (PIR/PNMH) workstreams from September 2025 to March 2026.

Everyone who attends the Strategies into Action workshops will be invited to participate in the Next Steps session, helping to carry forward the ideas and momentum we build together.

Who Should Attend:

Stakeholders involved in Infant Feeding across Calderdale — including practitioners, professionals, community leaders, volunteers, peer supporters who are contributing to the development of infant feeding services and mums, dads, parents and carers with lived experience of breastfeeding their child.

It will be a relaxed, creative and collaborative session where we will aim to talk about the infant feeding strategy and action planning together our next steps for Calderdale.

A similar workshop will be delivered with the Parent-Infant Relationship/Perinatal Mental Health (PIR/PNMH) to be able to identify cross-workstream priorities and ensure our next steps are grounded in both expertise and lived experience.

These workshop form part of the Calderdale’s Family Hub offer and supports the Calderdale Wellbeing Strategy priority for all children to be ready for school.

We want children to have the best chance to be healthy, happy and successful, as part of our Vision 2024 for Calderdale to be a place where everyone can reach their potential and live a larger life.

Tea and coffee and some light refreshments will be available but please bring your own lunch with you on the day. Please do let us know of any access requirements, and any dietary requirements or allergies to be aware of.
