Design a road safety poster and win shopping vouchers
This competition is being run by Calderdale Council and is open to young people aged 18 and under who live or go to school in the Calderdale area.
Your challenge is to create a poster that promotes road safety to your community using one of the following themes:
- Buckle Up! – Seat belts keep everyone safer. Little ones need the right car seat too.
- Stop, Look, Listen, THINK – Use the Green Cross Code every time you cross.
- No Distractions – Phones away, headphones off, eyes up. Messages can wait until you’re safely across.
- Use Safer Crossings – Zebra crossings, traffic lights, islands – they’re there to help you.
- Watch Out for Parked Cars – Look carefully when crossing between parked cars.
- Be Bright, Be Seen – Wear bright or reflective clothes, especially when it’s dark.
- Know the Risks – People aged 12–15 are more likely to be in collisions – think safety.
One winning design will be chosen from each theme. All entries must be received by 17:00 on Sunday 9th August 2026.
